This week’s episode will be abbreviated, but I wanted to take a moment or two to reflect on the past year.

That Podcast in Hutch is 1-year-old!

The first episode of That Podcast in Hutch aired on Sept. 2, 2021. A year later, we’ve cranked out nearly 50 episodes that have covered a variety of topics – from truck drivers to chefs, former drug addicts, single moms, and experts who provided insight into some of the big questions we have around here.

It’s not always been easy. For everyone who works on this show, it’s a labor of love. It’s not our “job” and we’re not making bank. We do it because we enjoy it, we like telling the stories, and we believe in it.

That’s a long way from where I was about 18 months ago, when I was somewhat reluctant to jump into podcasting. I’ve always been a writer – it’s where I’m comfortable, and I can edit, change, and finesse things to my liking. We can edit podcasts, to be sure, but for the most part these conversations are raw and authentic.

I’ve really enjoyed the past year of That Podcast in Hutch – and I’m looking forward to another year of storytelling. I hope you’ve enjoyed it too and that you’ll stick with us for the next year.
